This blog is changing focus and with good reason… we need to!040508_focb-nsj_logo1.jpg

The Friends of Celery Bog has a new site/location because our Domain name: FriendsOfCeleryBog.ORG has now gone ONLINE!

We have established some solid connections with this blog since forming it as the official ‘temporary’ contact point for the FoCB and we really don’t want to loose them. Therefore – how do we keep this link and facilitate the move from Here -> to -> There?

Bingo! Best answer – refocus this blog. OK, but to what? That didn’t take long either.

Sometime in early March 2008 I was having a discussion with FoCB member Nick Harby – archivist at the Purdue University Botany Department’s Herbarium – about the need for a web presence to provide a platform for discussion and reporting on the natural science of the Celery Bog.

I shot this idea past him a week ago, when the FoCB’s official domain was being established and he thought it was a good solution for both needs. I agreed and ‘made it so’ !

That’s where the FoCG-NSJ came into being. Actually, bringing-it-to-being, will be a bit more consuming of my efforts and those of anyone else desiring to help.

Over the next few weeks leading into the Spring of ‘08, this blog/site/archive will begin developing it’s layout, design criteria and mission. I would greatly appreciate any ideas and comments others have … and especially content provision!

Jot down your ideas and comments and and seal them in an email and toss them my way. Nick and I will look them over and look forward to developing beyond ourselves and bringing many others to the discussion, development and management of this resource.

Until the next Report… record what you observe at Celery Bog and do let us know by entering your findings here on the FoCB-Nature Science Journal!

It’s easy. Not sure how? Then, click on Become an Editor under PAGES – to the right. And if you have questions just send and email with HELP an editor’ in the subject line and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

Thanks…
